Attendance Requirements
Since this is a hands-on laboratory class, your attendance at every class is crucial for your success in this course.  If you are not present, you cannot perform the lab and complete the lab report due after each class. You are expected to come to class prepared to actively participate.  This means having read the experiment to be performed that week before class. If you know you are going to miss class for a legitimate reason (illness or death in the family, school sponsored event, etc.), I can work with you in advance to make alternative arrangements for your lab.  The key is communication.  I cannot help you if I am not aware of the situation.

All pre-lab instruction and quizzes will be provided on D2L. In order to attend a laboratory session, you will have to take an entrance quiz, described in this syllabus. The entrance quiz is designed to ensure that you understand what you will be doing in laboratory that week so you can get in, collect the data, and get out quickly.  There will also be longer quizzes that you will take that cover concepts and calculations from the previous labs.  These are marked on the calendar and given through D2L.
